Wakibu Bunnya - Founder
Having been raised in one of the most underprivileged slums in Kampala, Wakibu believes that no other child or youth should go through the challenges of growing up in a slum and has therefore dedicated his time and abilities to becoming a model for leadership and an agent of change for young people with a similar background.
Since 2008, Wakibu has been working directly with youth-focused organizations in diverse fields ranging from fundraising, formal debate training/facilitation, organizational management, community organizing, youth event planning, and policy analysis.
In 2009 he founded Open Space Center, where he currently oversees various youth programs as the Team Leader. As a member of the Young Leaders Think Tank for Policy Alternatives, Wakibu regularly comments on and contributes to youth policy discourse in various fields.
Wakibu holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Land and Engineering Surveying from Makerere University and a master’s degree in research and policy Analysis.
