Kampala, UGANDA – For day 4 of the University Debate Nationals 2022 the teams that made it to the semi-finals battled it out for a spot at the finals. The debate rooms were intense and powerful as ideas, strategies, rebattles, and extensions bounced back and forth from partcipant to participant. It is reported that by the time the revellers left the scene, they were flabbergasted and noted having had the ultimate debate experience.

Yesterday also featured a youth dialogue on governance and sustainable development. Discussed were topics on how young people can identify and reach opportunities via resources like the internet, how young people can work in tandem with their youth leaders to achieve the sustainable development goals, and overall how young people should put themselves with the aim of both personal and nation-wide development.

Later on in the evening, the participants showed their talent through poetry, and song in karaoke. A night of fun indeed.

The overall theme of the debate this year is “Uganda at 60: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions”
